Many years ago we began taking our young people
to Camp Y.E.S; a summer camp ministry. It was such a blessing to our
church. The kids had such a great time there, they learned so much
about the Lord, and made many decisions for Him. We began praying that
we could find a permanent home for the camp; Pastor McClain was so
excited about this ministry, but it was very inconvenient and difficult
to meet at this place every year. Then Pastor Stone found a camp for
sale in Rodney, Ontario; after a lot of negotiation and prayer we were
able to purchase that camp in December of 2001. Although it was very
rundown, and left vacant for many years, we began praying and working
on it and, over time the Lord provided the money and the workers from
many churches all across Ontario, to help restore the camp and get it
ready. We just had seven months to prepare the camp for summer camp
that year, but by the grace of God we were able to get it all done. The
young people showed up, and it was a wonderful year for the camp. In
2002, our first winter, we were able to have a couple of weekends of
winter camp and, the next year we expanded and were able to have a deaf
camp and also a camp for families to come and spend some time there.
It's been such an encouragement to see the camp growing so much in
these few years that we've had it. We are so excited that God has given
us this place, and we are praying that it will be used for many years
by the ministry of Camp Y.E.S. and for all the churches in Ontario.
